School’s out and summer’s in! If you’re considering braces or Invisalign® / Spark™ clear aligners for you or your child, and you’re wondering when is the best time to get braces, summer may be the perfect time to get started.
Here’s why:
1. No school!
School is out for the summer! This means classes and extracurricular activities are on hold for a few months. With more free time, it’s more convenient to schedule your initial consultation and following appointments. You aren’t juggling a school schedule with an orthodontic appointment schedule.
Plus, with DentalMonitoring technology, we already help you reduce in-office visits through virtual check-ins! You can simply snap a few pics of your smile using the DentalMonitoring box and send them to us through the secure app, and your Nth Degree orthodontist can track your smile progress in real-time, remotely.
That means you’ll only have to visit us when you absolutely need to, and you won’t have to spend your summer traveling to our office numerous times. As much as we’d love to see your face, we know you’re busy!
2. More time to adjust
The first few days of having your braces or wearing your clear aligners can be an adjustment. Your teeth and gums are adjusting to the new enforcement of brackets and wires, or custom-designed clear aligner trays, so you may experience a little soreness.
You may have to choose softer foods (like soup, applesauce and soft pasta) during the first week or two, until your mouth adjusts to your new treatment. With no school in session, it’s easier to kick back, sip on some applesauce and allow your mouth to rest!
3. Sport your summer colors!
With traditional braces, you’ll get to choose a new color for your braces each time you visit us! Take advantage of this creative freedom and choose some bright colors to match the summer season.
Since school is out and you don’t have to concern yourself too much with a ‘professional’ appearance, you can add some excitement to your braces. Try a rainbow of colors, or alternate with different colors on every other bracket!
With Invisalign or Spark clear aligners, you can decorate your aligners with cool Stickables™! Stickables are small, colorful, themed graphics that can be placed on your aligners to add a one-of-a-kind pizzazz to your smile.
4. Start the Fall 2024 school year with braces!
After your teeth and gums have adjusted, you’ll be well acquainted with your new smile by the time you start school again. The soreness phase will be over, and you’ll have an idea of which colors or Stickables look the best on your smile. You’ll have your oral hygiene routine down pat, and you’ll be a pro in your smile transformation.
5. Kids Club appointments are ideal to start in summer!
Have you heard of the Nth Degree Kid’s Club? All of the cool kids are joining! The Kid’s Club is our observation program for children with growing mouths. Here’s how it works:
When you and your child visit us for his or her complimentary exam, one of our highly-experienced, friendly orthodontists (Dr. Nease or Dr. Thomas) will determine whether he or she is ready for orthodontic treatment yet. If not, they’ll be enrolled in our Kid’s Club program for free observation appointments every six months!
Plus, a beautiful smile isn’t the only reward from the Kid’s Club! Your little one will also receive a Kid’s Club t-shirt, certificate and a chance to “Spin to Win” a special prize at each visit! They’ll get to have their photo featured in our Kid’s Club Gallery too.
