We know many of our teen patients prefer an invisible treatment option that doesn’t restrict their diet or limit their lifestyle. That’s why we’re proud to provide Invisalign for our teens in Upstate South Carolina.
There is no fixed treatment period with Invisalign, because no two cases are the same- especially with teens! Growing mouths develop at different rates.
When we create your teen’s custom treatment plan, we’ll base his or her expected treatment length off of his or her current orthodontic condition, the complexity of the case and his or her ultimate smile goals. The average Invisalign treatment length can take around 12 to 18 months, but your teen’s may be longer or shorter.
If your teen isn’t wearing his or her clear aligners for at least 20 to 23 hours a day, their expected treatment length is likely to be longer than initially anticipated.
When you choose Invisalign, you’re choosing a treatment that allows for greater comfort, easier hygiene and fewer lifestyle adjustments than traditional treatment options.
This advanced form of clear braces gives our teen patients the confidence to straighten their teeth and align their bite without feeling self-conscious of their braces or having to alter their lifestyle considerably.
No matter what your teen’s favorite hobby is – playing sports, playing an instrument, performing on stage or hanging out with friends – they can continue enjoying their favorite hobbies while transforming their smile.
Your teen can remove his or her aligners to clean them regularly, eat snacks and meals without limitation, and brush and floss their teeth thoroughly. There aren’t any brackets or wires for food to get stuck in or bacteria to grow in.
Invisalign is ideal for teens. These advanced aligners come with “compliance indicators” that give teens, parents and orthodontists insight into the effectiveness of treatment. Compliance indicators are small blue dots in the aligners that fade with wear.
If your teen isn’t wearing his or her aligners as instructed, these blue dots will still be visible after a while. If he or she is wearing them as instructed, these blue dots will fade and become undetectable over time.
These indicators tell us whether your teen is complying with his or her treatment, so we know whether to adjust their treatment plan moving forward! We want to ensure the most efficient treatment process for your teen, and these indicators help us take the necessary steps to ensure a smooth process.
