Orthodontic Assistant

Sadie joined our practice in 2020 as an Orthodontic Assistant. Her passion to help our patients have a pleasant experience and feel confident about their smile is a great asset to our team. Sadie grew up in Spartanburg and is a graduate of Byrnes High School. She currently lives in Spartanburg and enjoys horseback riding, cheering on Clemson or Falcons football, going to the beach and the lake with her friends and family and also hiking in the mountains with her German Shepard.

Digital Coordinator

Kristen joined our team in 2017. She is a Certified DANB Orthodontic Assistant and the Digital Coordinator. Kristen graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School & Spartanburg Community College. She grew up in Ware Shoals and now lives in Boiling Springs, SC with her husband Tyler, daughter Evie Grey & their dog Holley. Kristen enjoys drag racing, camping, going to the lake & spending time with family & friends.

Erin Rollins

Orthodontic Assistant

Erin was a patient of Dr. Horvath prior to joining the practice as a DANB Certified Orthodontic Assistant in 2002. Erin’s warm smile & commitment to the practice is evident every day at work. Erin and her husband Travis live in Pauline and have 2 children, Ashton & JT as well as a dog named Snoopy. In her spare time Erin likes to go shopping & take trips to the beach and the mountains

Susan Corn

Treatment Coordinator

Susan is one of our Treatment Coordinators. She has worked in the dental profession since 1973 and has been part of our team since 1993. Susan was born and raised in Spartanburg and is a Dorman High School & Spartanburg Community College graduate. Susan now lives in Greer with her husband Buddy and their dog Willie. Susan & Buddy have two children, Casey & Chase, and 6 grandchildren.

Alicia Caughman

Financial Coordinator

Alicia is one of our Financial Coordinator. She joined our team in 2006 after being a patient of Dr. Higginbotham when she was a kid. Alicia was born and raised in Gaffney and is a graduate of Gaffney High School & Greenville Technical College. She currently lives in Gaffney with her husband Bo, son Jonah and step daughters Audrey & Leah. Alicia and her family love animals & foster pets for a local rescue. She also enjoys cooking, DIY projects & traveling to cheer for her kids during football & basketball games & cheer competitions.

Trebbi Hardin

Treatment Coordinator

Trebbi is one of our Treatment Coordinators. She is also a Certified Orthodontic Assistant and maintains a DANB certification. Trebbi is also a former patient of Dr. Higginbotham and enjoyed her experience with braces so much that she decided to make it her profession to help others on their path to a great smile. Trebbi was born in Anderson, SC and raised in Gaffney where she still lives with her husband, Wade and their two girls, Ali & Molli. She is a graduate of Gaffney High School & Greenville Technical College and is an active member at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. When she isn’t working, Trebbi enjoys traveling, playing golf & spending time with family & friends.

Jane Lopez

Orthodontic Assistant

Jane is originally from Colombia, South America and moved to the United States in 1999. She joined our practice as a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) DANB Certified Orthodontic Assistant in 2014. While interning with Dr. Horvath, Jane’s love and career with orthodontics began. She enjoys being a part of people’s journey to a better, healthy smile & improved confidence. Jane lives in Simpsonville with her husband, Mike and son, Michael. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, hiking & spending time with her family.

Teena Jarrett

Scheduling Coordinator

Teena is our Scheduling Coordinator. She has been part of our team since 1982. Teena loves her job and loves being a part of Nth Degree Orthodontics. Having been a patient at the time that she was hired, she has an understanding about the process of wearing braces and having to schedule appointments. Teena was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina and still lives in the area. She graduated from Spartanburg High School & attended Liberty University. When she isn’t at work, Teena enjoys the beach as well as the mountains. She loves music, reading, going to the movies & crocheting. Teena has started a new tradition of crocheting a blanket for each staff member’s baby when they are born.

Angie Shipman

Insurance Coordinator

Angie is our Insurance Coordinator. She has been a part of our team since 1990. Angie was born in Spartanburg and is a graduate of Dorman High School & Spartanburg Community College. She now lives in Landrum, SC with her husband Wofford, sons Carson & Wesley and dog Lucy. Angie and her family are members of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church. When she isn’t at work Angie enjoys watching her sons play baseball, going to the beach & spending time traveling with her family.

Melanie Garner

Scheduling Coordinator

Melanie is one of our Scheduling Coordinators. You will usually find her smiling face at the front desk. She has been with our practice since 1992. Melanie was raised in Roebuck and is a graduate of Dorman High School & Spartanburg Community College. She lives in Woodruff with her husband Todd and they have two daughters, Jordan & Logan. Melanie enjoys music, watching movies and spending time with her family.

Deena Spradlin

Scheduling Coordinator

Deena is one of our Scheduling Coordinators. She is a Michigan native, who joined our practice in 2011. Deena’s background in oral surgery & communications along with her dynamic personality, makes her a tremendous asset to our family. Deena and her fiance Ronnie now live in Boiling Springs. Together they have six children & six grandchildren. Deena is a huge advocate for homeless animals and in her spare time she volunteers with Foster Paw and other animal rescue groups. She is also a Master Gardener through Clemson Extension.

Janet Horton

Financial Coordinator

Janet is a former patient of Dr. Higginbotham and she joined our team in 1987 as our Financial Coordinator. She is a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Spartanburg Community College with an Associates Degree in Accounting. Janet lives in Boiling Springs and has a son, Brian and daughter, Ivey Jane. When she isn’t working, Janet enjoys music, going to the lake, watching movies & gardening. Janet is also an active member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

Ashley Smalley

Orthodontic Assistant

Ashley is one of our Certified Orthodontic Assistants and has been part of our team since 2004. Ashley is from Roebuck and is a graduate of Dorman High School and Spartanburg Community College. She now lives in Cowpens with her husband, David and their two sons, Austin & Aiden. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys music and movies, going to the beach and football games.

Kaycie Alley

Dental Assistant

Kaycie has been a Certified Dental Assistant for 10 years and joined our team in 2020. We are excited for the knowledge and experience that she will add to our team. Kayce is from Spartanburg and is a graduate of Broome High School and Spartanburg Community College. Kaycie now lives in Spartanburg with her husband Austin and their fur babies, Madness & Spooky. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys going to the lake & the mountains, exercising and spending time with family & friends.

Destiny Turner

Dental Assistant

Destiny is one of our Certified Dental Assistants and joined our team in 2020. She brings along a DANB certification and several years of orthodontic experience as well. Destiny graduated from Blacksburg High School and Spartanburg Community College. She currently lives in Blacksburg. In her spare time, Destiny likes to go camping & fishing with her boyfriend, Jonah. They both have a heart for animals and currently have two rescue pets, a dog named Jake & a cat  named Muffins.

Tony Blackwell

Lab Coordinator

Tony is our Orthodontic Laboratory Extraordinaire. He trained at Great Lake Orthodontics Laboratory in Tonawanda, New York and has been with our practice since 1988. If you need a retainer or appliance made, Tony is your man! He is, simply put, the best in the business! Tony was born in Green Creek, North Carolina and after traveling the country, he now resides there to be close to his parents. Tony loves the outdoors- hiking, camping & rock climbing. He enjoys photographing nature and spending time outside with his dog, Lucy.

Melissa Mize

Orthodontic Assistant

Melissa joined our team in 2020 as a Clinical Assistant but she brings several years of orthodontic experience to our practice. Melissa is originally from Woodruff and is a graduate of Woodruff High School. She now lives in Boiling Springs with her husband Blake and their canine kids, Hal & Gunner. When she isn’t at work, Melissa likes playing disc golf, going fishing & going to the gym with her husband.
