The Nth Degree Orthodontics Scholarship

The Nth Degree Orthodontics Scholarship exists to give the gift of a smile to underserved, deserving children in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Applicants must be residents of either Spartanburg or Cherokee County in South Carolina to be eligible for this scholarship. Services to these deserving individuals are provided by orthodontic professionals, including an experienced Spartanburg orthodontist. A person who qualifies for this program is provided with reduced fee orthodontic care and treatment.

An advisory board comprised of both dental professionals and members of the community review each application for completeness and viability for consideration.

Applying for the Program

In order to qualify for the Nease & Higginbotham Orthodontic Scholarship, a person must be a resident of either Spartanburg or Cherokee counties. At this time, applicants must be under 18 years of age to qualify for the program. As part of the application process, a person must provide a 5″ x 7″ head shot that includes a full smile with the teeth being fully in view.

An application for consideration in the NH Ortho Scholarship program also requires that a person submit two letters of recommendation. Being a program based in part on income guidelines and providing services to the underserved members of the community, proof of family or household income is also required. This must be provided in the form of a W-2, a tax return and/or the most recent pay stub.

The Application Essay

In addition to completing the application and submitting the associated materials, an applicant must also complete an essay. The essay must focus on a number of different factors or elements in support of the application itself.
